別に劇場版の予定も無かったと思うが
それにしても冬虫夏草で釣れるヒロインは本邦初かも

There were so many flashbacks that it felt like an episode made to conserve animation.
I do not think a theatrical film was planned, either.

In the manga, it was funny when Maomao recovered her freedom, completely ignored an emotional Jinshi, and went wild over the cordyceps.

I am fully satisfied with the anime adaptation overall, but the repeated flashbacks in the second half and the way the insert songs were used did not quite work for me.

As others have said, my favorite version of the cordyceps scene is the one that builds the expectation that she is running to Jinshi, only for her to pass him by.
Lady Gyokuyou pouting was cute.

Episode 12 closed the first cour by showing the consequences of Fengming’s crime spreading far beyond the people directly involved. Viewers discussed the severity of collective punishment, Maomao’s dismissal, and the misunderstanding that kept her from clearly telling Jinshi she wanted to remain in the rear palace.
Much of the discussion centered on Jinshi and Maomao repeatedly talking past each other. Jinshi’s questions and his offer to buy her contract revealed exceptional concern, while Maomao interpreted events through the caution of a commoner facing someone far above her station.
