小学館版の漫画読んでるからキャラデザの違いに違和感あるね
わかりやすさ優先なのか日本語の文字とかカタカナ語使用で中華風感うすれちゃったなあと

十二国記、彩雲国、暁のヨナ、後宮の烏と中華風アニメ大体みてるけど、ファンタジー殆ど無いのアニメだと珍しいよね

I’ve read the Shogakukan manga version, so the differences in the character designs feel a little strange to me.
Maybe they prioritized clarity, but using ordinary Japanese writing and katakana words weakened the Chinese-inspired atmosphere.

Also, did anyone else think Gaoshun’s intonation when he said “His Majesty” sounded odd?

I’ve watched most of the Chinese-inspired anime, such as The Twelve Kingdoms, The Story of Saiunkoku, Yona of the Dawn, and Raven of the Inner Palace. A Chinese-inspired anime with hardly any fantasy elements is pretty unusual.

Viewers already don’t understand what “being bestowed” means, so writing it in hiragana might be fine.
If they wrote it in Chinese, they would have to explain that too.
They should probably make some of the other words easier to understand as well.

Broadcasting three episodes at once seems like it was done for the TV station’s convenience, but one episode at a time would have been perfectly fine.
I didn’t think the opening song suited the series, but the animation clearly had a lot of effort put into it, and I enjoyed it.

I think you can simply interpret it as everything having been translated for the audience.

Personally, I found the third episode very interesting.

挿入歌が一番合ってたな
背景と美術と花は凄く綺麗でよかったけどその分人物が浮いてたから原作小説の絵が一番馴染んだと思う
3話のアニオリはよかった
ABEMAで偶にコメありで見てたけどＯＰ.ED以外結構評判よかったな
時間帯は本当に損してるなとは思う

The insert song was the one that suited the series best.
The backgrounds, artwork, and flowers were extremely beautiful, but that made the characters look disconnected from them. I thought the illustrations from the original novels blended in best.
The anime-original material in episode three was good.
I occasionally watched it with the comments enabled on ABEMA, and aside from the opening and ending, the reception seemed quite positive.
I really do think the late broadcast time works against it.

感想だけど皆声合ってたし種崎さんもお母さんみたいな感じで演技で良かったし壬氏も年相応の声で良かった。
唯一の不満なのは帝って30代半ばなのにデザイン老けすぎだと思った。

My impression is that everyone’s voice suited their character. Tanezaki’s motherly style of acting was good, and Jinshi’s voice sounded appropriate for his age.
My only complaint is that the Emperor is supposed to be in his mid-thirties, but his design makes him look too old.

町の薬屋の娘が知ってることを宮中の天医や異民族討伐軍の幕僚が知らないというのは、違和感あるわ
なろう作品って主人公を担ぐために劇中のエライ地位の人を無能に描写しがちなの苦手
いっそ転生主人公が現代知識チートしてるほうがまだマシな気がする

Would the Rear Palace really accept maidservants supplied by people of unknown background who engage in kidnapping? Does the government in this setting simply not treat kidnapping as a problem?
It feels strange that the daughter of a town apothecary knows things that neither the palace physician nor the staff officers of an army fighting foreign tribes know.
I dislike how stories originating on Shōsetsuka ni Narō often make important people in the story incompetent just to elevate the protagonist.
A reincarnated protagonist using modern knowledge almost would have made more sense.

漫画アプリでしか見てないから1話を見たのは随分前だがアニメで改めて見ると赤さんの命の恩人を毒見役にするのひでーなって思ったw

まずOP演出で長沼監督好きになったけどね。
魔法使いの嫁も見てみようかなと思わせるほどに

The direction of the opening immediately made me like director Norihiro Naganuma.
It even made me think I should watch The Ancient Magus’ Bride.

全体的に話が急ぎ過ぎ
猫猫がわざと不細工にしてそばかす目立たせてるのにガン無視
至るとこに説明不足感否めないから小説なり漫画は読みたい

なんか監督に恵まれなかったなぁって感じはする
そこら辺はサンデー漫画良かったんだけどねぇ雰囲気大事にしつつ説明もしっかりしてるし

The entire story feels too rushed.
They completely ignored the fact that Maomao deliberately makes herself look unattractive by emphasizing her freckles.
So many things feel underexplained that I want to read either the novel or the manga.

It feels as though the series wasn’t fortunate in its choice of director.
The Shogakukan manga handled that aspect well: it preserved the atmosphere while also explaining things properly.

猫猫が薬の知識あって毒耐性も付いてて有能なのは間違いないけど
そこから、探偵みたいな推理に繋げるのは全く別の能力なんじゃないのかな？
って、気はするw

Maomao clearly has extensive knowledge of medicine, has built up a resistance to poison, and is very capable.
But being able to turn that into detective-like reasoning seems like a completely different skill, doesn’t it? Lol.

宮中に入れたというのは猫猫が博識なのを知ってて狙ってた？

アニメはおおむねガンガン版だが構成変えたりや説明が入ってわかりやすくなったな

A woman who gets kidnapped would ordinarily end up being forced into prostitution.
Did they send Maomao to the palace because they knew how knowledgeable she was and deliberately targeted her?

The anime is largely based on the Square Enix manga version, but it changes the structure and adds explanations, making the story easier to understand.
